The crypto industry has many wallets to go along with thousands of blockchains, but managing multiple wallets across multiple decentralized exchanges (DEX) may soon be a thing of the past with the impending arrival of Polaris, a “Token Portal” from the team behind Osmosis that aims to transact across all chains.
“We believe we’re effectively creating a new category of DeFi product with the Token Portal,” Lead Marketing & PR contributor to Osmosis David Goosenberg said. “While there are other DEXes and aggregators, Polaris aims to integrate all of them to act like a mega-aggregator that even further improves the UX by reducing user-facing complexities.”
The grand vision of Polaris is to fix a problem the team calls “The Great Chain Divide,” citing fragmented liquidity, reduced functionality, forcing users to use multiple wallets and find out how to get tokens for gas. Polaris says the industry incentivizes blockchains to build and control their own ecosystems, and their fix is nothing short of a technological marvel. Seeking to make the user experience fast and effortless, Polaris is creating the first ever Token Portal, which will allow users to swap any cryptocurrency for another without having to stumble upon any of the hurdles mentioned above.

In an industry where ambitions run high and skepticism is in equal supply, one need only look at a previous project built by the Polaris team to ascertain whether or not this new Token Portal can succeed.
The premier DEX for the Cosmos Ecosystem has been innovating and building out features at breakneck speed since it hit the ground running in 2021. The Osmosis team has developed what many Cosmos users say is the “best DEX in crypto.” Features include detailed token pages, trading, a dedicated support team, and too many others to list. Recent additions, such as concentrated liquidity for pools, have further reinforced those claims. Osmosis DEX has indeed raised the bar for decentralized finance exchanges.
It will be interesting to witness the development of a Token Portal that can span the breadth of communication protocols, giving users an easy way to transact across all chains.
Polaris is in development, and plans to open up its Beta program to those who registered for early access later this year.
