CORRECTION: Kira NFT holders will be getting 6,900 $PASG and not $9,600
3D world pioneer Passage has revised their tokenomics and updated project goals, lowering max supply and boosting Strange Clan NFT holder’s airdrops.
“The original Passage tokenomics were set at a time when the market was in huge discovery mode,” Passage Founder Lex Avellino said. “So much has been learned since then about how inflation, staking, and structure affects tokens that are supposed to be driven by utility. Our goal with the shift has been, in every area, to create a more sustainable token structure that facilitates real utility in the Passage platform.”
At the heart of the tokenomics change is lowering the max supply from 2 billion $PASG to 1.5 billion. This will alter inflation and staking rewards, making it around 15 percent APR for the first year. Total staking rewards now make up 20 percent of the total supply.
Strange Clan NFT holders get a boost to their incoming airdrops with Deran Fang seeing an increase to 13,000 $PASG per NFT and Kira getting 6,900 per playable character. This has effectively doubled the airdrop allotment from 42.8 million to 105 million.
Prices for both the private and public sales have been adjusted along with vesting schedules. More information about tokenomics can be found in the Passage White paper.
Plans to develop a prologue 2D experience have been cut in favor of focusing on a playable Strange Clan demo slated for September of this year. The playable demo is a widely anticipated event within the Strange Clan and Passage communities.
Passage is lining up partnerships with 3D AI, 3D web, music industry, and consumer product partners. These strategic business alliances will provide Passage users with new tools to build worlds, items to purchase, concerts to go to, and other possibilities.
A target launch date has been set for the $PASG token for the first week of August and the Passage team is leaning towards using StreamSwap.
Passage seeks to rid the world of 2D pages and replace them with 3D spaces by connecting digital and physical worlds. The company envisions creators producing digital experiences including events, music, art, games, interactive online shopping, webinars, public and private hang outs, and a bevy of other online engagements.
